Just got back from the Newburgh Focused event that we co-hosted with MVORE (my goodness to we love MVORE!). Being IN Newburgh, watching films about Newburgh or by Newburgh creators, experiencing super talented dance performances by Newburgh locals, in the incredible Newburgh Public Library? Definitely nothing I've experienced before and the love of the city, it's stories, talent and people was really beautiful. Shout out to Mary Lou from the library (picture speaking here) who gave a warm and touching intro and started the event off strong.
I just got home from a mixer at Good Time Film Studio and we are so lucky with all the incredibly talented folks who live in the Hudson Valley. If you need a space to shoot in or you want to connect with some epic folks then you definitely need to check them out.
Finding my career path was not a straight road. The road signs cleared when I realized a job existed where one day I could capture freedom fighters demanding justice and the next be at a concert with a deaf musician.
Life is never dull as a filmmaker!
As Brenda Bufalino, an 85 year old tap dancer, said today, “I’m exhausted but what else are you going to do? You’re here, live! Put on your shoes.”
I’m going to keep putting my shoes on Brenda. I hope you all keep lacing up too. No judgment if it’s velcro 😉

We have been filming Jacob Sanchez for almost a year. He’s a 15 years old young man on the path to be the first Puerto Rican to represent the US in the Olympics, out of Newburgh, NY! Yesterday he performed on the national stage in California and took 2nd… Documenting how hard he has been working and all the sacrifice Jacob and his family have made was a testiment to what the world witness lastnite!!!
This is Jerome. He doesn't know me, but I know him...somewhat. In the life as an editor, I meet so many unique and interesting people, though they don't know me. HUDSY is a great platform for artists to meet each other through this valley we call home, and I'm looking forward to the new faces I'll get to meet in person and not just through a computer screen!
By far my new favorite way to work from home ♥️
I had the pleasure of grabbing lunch with the fabulous Sage Higgins this week - Gracie from Gracie's Trendy Treats. Check it out here and enjoy the giggles! https://watchlocal.hudsy.tv/programs/gracies-trendy-treats-series
That's one of the questions I've been asking myself especially since the start of the pandemic. When I moved back to the area, one of the places I would go to connect with folks was the Hudson Valley Tech Meetup. We wanted to create something in that same spirit and based on the response so far, I don't think I'm the only one looking for more connecting opportunities. Can't wait to see you there.
Just wrapped the second episode of HUDSY’s Original series, “Behind The Mic” featuring Tony E.
Check it out at Hudsy’s Behind the Screen event on March 11th.
In the meantime, check out the first episode of Behind The Mic featuring Nellybombs.
There is some much raw talent in the region! Who are some of your favorite artists? Comment below and they might end up in episode 3.
