Another beautiful event with our MVORE family and they said they haven’t seen Safe Harbors standing room only in quite some time.
Mark your calendars for January 28th at 3pm especially if you live in the city of Newburgh. We have an awesome event planned in collaboration with MVORE. We will be showing around 8 short films that all connect to the city of Newburgh. When was the last time you got to gather with your neighbors and spend the afternoon watching films about your own community? We hope you can join us.
I wear a lot of hats here including the build out of this app, operations, some producing here and there, and whatever else needs to be done to keep this train rolling. I’m a Hudson Valley lifer and have been in the arts community here in a variety of ways as an arts advocate for over 20 years. I just love this place - no matter where I travel, I always come home thinking “my mountains are better” - I know you know the feeling! What’s your favorite part of the Hudson Valley? I’m always looking to find out more about this amazing place we live!

When I am not working on graphic design projects for HUDSY I can be spotted traversing the beautiful trails of the Hudson Valley, taking “cat naps” with my cat, working on personal art projects, or sipping a warm drink at my favorite local coffee shops. I am planning to get back into photography this year and I would love to have a photography buddy so if anyone on here wants to grab a camera and explore with me HMU!

I love playing sports like basketball, baseball and softball, but my passion truly lies in all things FILM. For a long time, I wasn’t sure exactly what my passion was, but when I finally found it, I went for it. I figured out how to make a film without college. I studied the craft of screenwriting, cinematography, directing, editing and scoring, AKA filmmaking! While I may never master the art that is film, at the very least, I can say that I know how to make one. After winning best short film at the Hudson Valley Film Festival, along with another original that was an official selection, while also making several other films of different genres, my perseverance finally paid off. My work got the attention I needed to get a full time job working in the field of my passion. I’m so lucky to be a part of HUDSY and I’m looking forward to connecting with artists all around the Hudson Valley!

My role here is outreach, apprentice program, content and commercial work. A little about my history. I grew up in a single parent home in the South Bronx, a place that if you can make it there you can definitely make it anywhere in the world! I started my career in the music industry and then changed gears into filmmaking in my late 20’s. I began exploring the Hudson Valley over 10 years ago and decided to call it home almost 7 years ago when we decided we wanted to raise our daughter Nola here. So we moved to Ulster County, a place that holds so much history and beauty. My passions are filmmaking, playing sports, collecting basketball cards, and being the best father and human I can be.Â

I'm one of HUDSY’s cinematographers. Throughout my life I’ve been the shy kid. I’m not the best at striking up a convo but when I’m behind the lens I’m able to enter worlds I never thought I could be a part of. I love to tell stories that make people think and tear up just a tad, sorry not sorry. When I’m not making you cry I love making you smile! I’m always down for an adventure too, just ask my old roommate who bunked with me in South Africa. She wasn’t too pleased when I told her we’d have to go into hiding for the next 5 days. If nothing else, I find a lot of joy hiking with my dog Meeko blaring some Michael Franti while dancing from rock to rock. And yes, I use a stick as a microphone to lip sync.

I grew up here in the Hudson Valley in both Ulster and Dutchess Counties which gave me a unique experience. Playing little league in Poughkeepsie will forever be a fond memory I look back on. I love telling stories and celebrating the amazing places I’ve been lucky enough to call home. I lived in Jackson Hole, Wyoming for a decade and ran a snowboarding magazine which was completely unexpected and such a gift. After being away for so long, it feels special to be back close to my family and friends in the Hudson Valley. When I’m not working, I love to be outside w/ my partner Alisha and experiencing the beautiful nature we have in our backyards. I really just wanted to work at a place like HUDSY, but since I couldn’t find anything like it, we decided to build it.
